Age of Extinction Evasion Optimus Prime

Now you know you can’t have a Transformers movie with out this guy, and let me tell you Evasion Prime is it. Straight up, gonna say it: “If you get only one figure from this line, THIS is the one to get.” Yup, I just quoted what I said after messing with this guy. Read on and you’ll learn why.

Altmode…is freaking a flat nosed G1 truck!! The fanboy in me just cheered, and it is awesome! I mean THIS is what we were clamoring for. It rolls great and holds together pretty well.

Umm…you can put his packaged weapon on the peg hole on the top…it is stupid, but we’ll get back to that gun in a bit…

Now if you use some other weapons from other figures…well let’s say a black repaint of this would pull of a great G2 vibe with the right weapons…

Now about that Shotgun…hmmm…fans have frankly been ranting, whining, complaining, that the DOTM Megatron never had his weapon from the movie. Gee, this looks familiar…The shotgun has 5mm pegs on the side. There is no way Evasion Prime can take advantage of that, BUT Megs here happens to have a peg hole in his back…

As if he had it, oh…strapped to his back like a certain movie…PLUS his hands have this grove in the, and the Shotgun handle just happens to have a tab…

Yeah, this was the gun he was supposed to get. Straight up when you get this out of the box, give it to Megatron. He will thank you for it.

Now, let us us talk Robot mode…umm…I love it. The details are fantastic, though I still prefer a faceplate on my Prime (platinum version rumored to have it though) and yeah the colors could be slightly better. That is just nitpicking. Great details, no desire break out the panel lining pen, and articulation…oh the articulation. Toe joints, waist swivel, slight ankle tilts, bicep swivel, wrists…I mean look, I can hit all the iconic poses…

EVERY kind of iconic pose…

Balance? Not an issue. From one leg kicking the door in…(DADDY’S HOME!)

To checking under his foot because he accidently stepped into Megan Fox’s career…(Seriously, Jonah Hex? She owes me 12 bucks for me sitting through that…)

I mean look at this…and all achieved with out a stand…which brings me to the absolutely best part of this line…

you can plug a stand into them!!! Yes, I kid you not…so if you want some awesome aerial poses without dealing with finding the right place for the claw to grip…

Prime has a port right in his backside that fits the plug of a Tamashii stage! I’m sorry but this is just awesome.

It even works in alt mode!

To sum this up, Evasion Prime was designed by some one who said “I’m going to totally shut these collectors up!” I would like to express my “Mission Accomplished” gratitude to that person. I have zero buyers regret. This is the figure we should have gotten years ago, with an accessory we should have gotten…so yes, if you get only one figure…this is the one…
