I present to you my most anticipated figure of the new Autobots, Hound. voiced by John Goodman and packing firepower, I was wanting this guy from day one. Here is hoping he lived up to the hype!
Hound turns into an OSHKOSH APC. This guy rolls well and really shows the love in the design. I think my favorite useless detail is the spare tire behind the cab. No purpose what so ever except that it is in the real model. I only have one gripe on the alt mode. Too freaking SMALL!! This would have made a great leader class figure. Just isn’t to scale at all. The other gripe I have has nothing to do with the mold, but more the name. Hound was a green Jeep…Green APC? Why isn’t he Bulkhead? Ok, fanboy rant done with that…
Transformed we have one very heavily armed robot. Oh dear lord he is a all guns, robot and bullets! His arms are bullets, his BEARD is bullets! Plus the sheer number of weapons…two pistols we holster in his legs, two larger pistols that attach to the hips, two multi-barreled sawed off SHOTGUNS that peg to his chest, a triple barreled Vulcan cannon rifle that pegs to his back, AND a knife! Why a knife? WHY NOT!
Articulation is pretty cool, I mean as you can see. Being able to hit that pose really impressed me.
Fully laden Hound is an impressive sight. The bullet arms just add dynamic to his bulk. Aside from the size I have one and a half complaints. He is top heavy and doesn’t have the heel support, so he falls backwards a LOT. The 1/2 is the hands with the vehicle kibble on them. Those take away a lot from the robot mode.
Now a friend of mind suggested this: The knuckle guards CAN be removed! They slide out of the hands, but they are slightly glued on, so you have to gently work them down. Yes you have gaps in his hands, but man does it improve his look!
Now if having seven various guns and a knife just isn’t doing it for you, you CAN combine them into this…this…thing of death! I mean seriously, this is guns on guns spitting guns…not even Rob Liefeld would have used this. Ok, yes he would, but still you get where I’m going. This is just nuts, and is awesome.
The ability to combine the guns and peg them into various spots really adds to the playability. Doesn’t exactly make the greatest sense, true, but still looks cool.
Oh and all them guns can be used in alt mode! You all KNOW I love that! He’s like a gun caddy for the others. Ok the knife was tricky to find a home for…but I am really pleased with the over all look.
Finally as with all the other AoE figures, we have the stand port. Please Please Please Hasbro, keep these integrated in future figures!
Hound is a solid win for the AoE line. Even if you have told yourself that you aren’t getting any movie figures, THIS one you may want. He’s your Generations Bulkhead I tell ya! All his good parts out weigh his few flaws. I had to order him from Amazon though, because as always the good stuff just isn’t in stores…

The detail on that guy really is impressive. I mean, holy crap there’s so much going on with that sculpt. The ridiculous versatility of his weapons is really cool too. I dare say if I crumble and buy something from AOE, this would probably be the figure.
plus all those guns and the knife are 5mm, so you get weapons for your other figures
