Wait…a Figuart? Does Starscreamer still collect those? You’d think by the last reviews I had given up…well just so much stuff has come in they have kind of fallen to the wayside of the priority pile…Today I bring you a very interesting one though, Kamen Rider ZO. The subject of a movie, a Sega CD game version of the movie and umm…oh the 3D movie with Kamen Rider J (who? Exactly). The CD game is where I first discovered the Masked Rider, so with ZO there is some sentiment. So let us see how the figure rates!
ZO’s body is fantastic. The brilliant green and gold trim look gorgeous. The gold is actually on raised surface, so it gives a great texture. Finally the red crystal and eyes just pop. The actual material feels like soft rubber, so actually feels like a costume. The hands are tipped with clawed fingers. ZO is kind of like SHIN lite…still a hand to hand fighter, just not as…well…freaky.
Accessories, we have the standard hands, and an alternative head. This has jaws, much like Another Agito, Kamen Rider 1 and a few others. I admit I actually prefer this just to give the guy some personality.
ZO also comes with this…over sized grasshopper. It also has a set of wings. This I think was just to add to the accessory count. This was his little guide, kind of like the fairy that helps Link out. It’s gonna stay in the box for the future.
Articulation is up to Figuarts standards. Nothing extra special awesome, but nothing hindered.
In the end that actually sums up ZO. He is a completely generic Kamen Rider! But with Fruit Samurai, Cars, forms out the wazoo…sometimes a little simplicity is needed. If you wanted to see what Figuarts are all about, this is an EXCELLENT figure to start with! I have to give an A+ because it does all you can ask with zero distractions.
