So I was at a comic show this weekend and was talking toys with a booth guy. He said that these are some of the best DC has to offer, so I picked up two figures from the Capullo line, Mr. Freeze and Catwoman here. The experience with Catwoman is…well…just read on lol…
Catwoman at first glance is just well…brace yourself…seriously this may hurt…I did warn you…the cat’s meow…OK got that one off my chest…Anyway, her body sculpt is smooth, curvy, and everything my wife hates. I’m kind of glad the zipper is all the way up for my own safety. The detail is there, the boots have painted buckles, the goggles look awesome, and yes the zipper looks great.
The accessory count is the whip. It’s a great whip mind you. Soft rubber and curls around her all kinds of nice…but that is it. No alternate head (which she was going to have at first) or a display stand. That is the killer, because she NEEDS one. Heck she has a peg hole in her foot.
The reason is that she can hardly move! I mean her shoulders, elbows and wrists can be adjusted, even her head is on a ball joint. Above the waist she is great (shut up and get yer mind out of the gutter). Below though, I’m just sad. The legs are just forward and back, single jointed knees, and no ankle movement. There are thigh swivels and calf swivel but you really can’t do much with them. What you see above is the most dynamic I could get. No pouncing crouch or even more…*ahem* alluring poses. This was done to keep the sculpt smooth I assume. There is succeeded, but even Marvel Legend Gamora has her beat.
If you are a die hard Catwoman fan, yes get this. The design is sexy, she looks great, but man, compared to everything else I have, a let down. If you collect statues or busts, yeah you’ll like this. But I collect action figures, I need more action to this (quite nice looking) figure. Even a simple display stand would have saved this just so I could fake other poses, but nope. As a display piece, yes an A, but as an action figure C+
