Sorry for being light on the reviews, family became a den of sickness…BUT enough about the past, let us look to the future…the man of the future, a man who is…a machine…X-51, or Aaron Stack to his friends was a welcome surprise to the current series of Marvel Legends. He was the first I really wanted to track down due to it being such an under used Marvel Character! So let’s dive right in!
Machine Man is an awesome metallic violet and silver, with a touch of added color to his face. The face is a perfect Kirbyesque jawline with brilliant red goggles. Coloring is great.
Articulation is all I could ask for. Double knee and elbow joints, waist, ab-cruch and neck on a ball joint. Toss in some ankle tilts and all is great! The thing is, this has to be one of the most generic sculpts out there. It’s a man…yup!
His back even has a plug hole, so he can have Cap’s shield back there…
…or be the latest Symbiote Host…hey, play with your toys as you choose to…
So aside from the red goggles, we essentially have a Phantom figure…yay…but then we get to the accessories…
Extendo arms baby! (and a second set of fist hands…) I love these! Oh my god, once I started plugging them in I just had a blast.
Talk about changing the dynamic on a toy! These totally make this one of the coolest Marvel figures I have played with!
It get’s better…in the arms are bendy wire so you can flex them. This gives added life and makes them much more…fluid. Also they are light enough to really not throw off his balance. Just perfect.
You can even plug them together for an extra long reach if you choose. This does add the weight, but hey, it’s different.
I really was kind of meh about this figure when I first got him. In fact I sold him a few days later, but ended up getting him again. Something said give him a chance, and he deserved it!
If a Marvel Legend collector, you are going to get him (he does have Build a Figure parts after all, Odinson’s arms) but if you are a casual collector and want something just a little different…Machine Man is your guy!
So I give Machine Man here a solid B+. Something really neat with a unique twist. Now where is my TASKMASTER!
