A bit behind on this guy, but I totally blame working on this project. So today I present to you the second in the Warbotron team Heavy Noisy! Otherwise known as “Really I swear I’m not the Combaticon Brawl!” We first started with Air Burst and I was impressed…so will the second fair as well? Read on!
Again I have to commend Warbotron on their packaging. This is top notch stuff, and I just LOVE the art!
Both sides just show you are getting something cool. This is a real collector friendly packaging and I appreciate it!
Alt mode is a tank…a hell of a tank!
Turret turns and you have the extra guns on top. Also those guns are on 5mm pegs so…
We can add MORE GUNS! I’m sorry for the color variance, my lighting collapsed mid shoot, still re-adjusting it…but still, having these ports just adds to the fun.
Now let’s talk robot mode! He has stature that is for sure. Colors are great, as are the proportions. Nice big stocky legs and he does have sort of ankle tilts so he can have a good solid stance. No falling over issues here. I love the helmet sculpt an all the nice rivets and details from the tank mode just look oh so right on him.
Oh and he has EPIC light piping!
Articulation…this is a mixed bag. Legs are great. Knees, aforementioned ankles, waist…yup, all I could want in his lower body! Arms…that leaves some to be desired. The shoulders just don’t give the clearances I like.
I mean that’s as sharp of an angle you are going to get with those arms. Not the most dynamic pose…still looks like a robot of semi action.
Now let’s talk accessories! The turret becomes one hell of a BFG that can be held or arm mounted on his shield. The two top machine guns become pistols. I do like they gave him two as the g1 just had a single gun. These pistols fit TIGHT in Heavy’s hands. I am sorely tempted to sand the pegs down slightly.
Now one thing that really impressed me with Heavy’s design is that while the tank gun is big, it’s not super heavy. It does not weigh down his arm if you choose to display him with an arm cannon.
The gun can also be held in his hand while the rest of the tank top is a shield. Cool in concept, but honestly, with the shoulder hindrances it is more annoying. You can not replicate the cover art pose. One thing was fun was the pistols can also be shoulder mounted. Just gives him a slightly more aggressive profile.
Finally you can have the turret on the back much like the G1 version. So for you purists you are covered. My final thoughts are mixed. I mean he has a rocking tank mode and decent posing, but for his price I admit I want full ninja articulation. Still he is part of a team, and part of something bigger. He’s not horrible, but if you wanted him just as a stand alone I’d shy away. Still things like colors and top notch plastic quality are awesome and the detailed face is a plus. I’m not dropping out of this project at all…after all, a fellow salesman is being shipped as we speak…
