Last review I mentioned how much I loved Agito, well second would be Kamen Rider 555, Faiz. Only reason it wasn’t top was…well, it ended a bit too abrupt. Then I saw the movie, and with movies there are exclusive Riders, and this one here is hands down one of THE top Riders with too damn short a life span of a movie and one shot in Decade. When I saw Psyga was getting the Figuart treatment, I knew he’d be mine…
Regular readers know I don’t harp on the packaging, but the cover art on this box is just awesome. The back of course has your action poses, and I like how “Henshin” is in English, a nice nod to the movie character.
For a web exclusive, Psyga has a great accessory count. Three pairs of hands, the driver and phone in various configurations, the tonfas, and finally the jet pack.
Starting with the man himself, Psyga is just that damn good looking. The pearl white with the blue and silver is just dynamic. The Psyga suit had me the first time I saw Paradise Lost, and the figure keeps that aura of awesomeness. He is still on the Faiz body, so the arms are a bit more bulky, but he also retains the die cast feet of times past.
Psyga also has…dare I say it…silver finger tips. The major detail both Kaixa and Faiz lacked…The hands are your basic splayed fingers and one of the cooler gripping hand sets. The body is typical Figuarts awesomeness, which after Burning Agito, this is a great thing. The collar in the suit does restrict some movement, but he can still retain that cocksure attitude.
I really like the gripping hands because they are not super tight. The phone is held securely, but isn’t wedged in there. Also I do wish they had one pointing hand, not only for dialing the phone, but to point arrogantly at his opponent as he decrees “either you, or me…” The belt has of all the version of the buckle, with the phone, without, and oddly with out the mission memory. I say oddly because I don’t recall him ever taking it out for an exceed charge. I do have to note that the belt is the same as all the others in the Faiz line, it has peg holes for a Shot and Pointer.
Next we have the jet pack. This has to be the coolest of all accessories I have seen for a Figuart. It has both jet and cannon configurations. The arms are on ball joints, so they have a range in motion. Now you see that white panel.
Well Psyga has a removable panel on his back. I hated pulling this off, I know one day something will go wrong…BUT the replacement one fits nice and snug, so the backpack attaches flush to him.
This allows full range in posing with no worries of it popping off.
Finally the grips on the back pack do telescope. One, this gives a greater range for arm movement while holding on to the handles…BUT in the movie, those handles become his melee weapons.
Psyga gets a separate set of larger laser tonfas! I freaking LOVE these! Why no other Rider has used them I will never know…They are defensive, they are offensive…
He just looks that damn good…
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I LOVE this figure. He is pricey as all hell. I can’t believe I actually got him when I saw the price, but I have zero regret. If you have the disposable income, yes get him. He is your extra special present for doing your taxes on time, for getting that awesome grade, or getting a raise.
Me…I’ll just let him soar above my expectations…enjoy the extra pictures, I had too much damn fun this session.
