I’ll tell you this for starters…this years Figuarts are just amazing. Following Den-O Sword Form, we now have his secondary Rider Zeronos in his Altair, or base form. You all know I was in love with the Den-O figure, so will the high bar be met?
Zeronos is a brilliant emerald and black with a gold train tracks and silver highlights. He has some brilliant compound eyes of course. The Den-O figures are more trained themed than bug, but still some dashing figures. Zeronos doesn’t have shoulder pads, so his joints have that costume filler look for his arms. Not bad, but do restrict some movement.
He has a plethora of accessories, well, small ones. A separate belt buckle to show when his card slot is out, a broken down Zerogasher, with the hilt and tip being separate. I’m sorry, but this is asking for something to be lost when posing. I would actually have been happy about having them as molded on parts. Some small details, while cool, do not need to be illustrate. A neat thing with his Riderpass, there are two painted sides. Nice touch. Of course the usual variety of hands, holding, splayed and fists, but also a pointing finger, and a thumbs up hand.
The ZeroGasher is of course the highlight, both a crossbow and sword mode.
Each form is a separate piece, as is the standard with Figuarts. I love each equally and one of the best looking weapons I have seen to date. No crazy effect pieces for Zeronos though, but don’t find that lacking.
Posing is standard fair, aside from the shoulders, he is identical with Den-O. The plastic feet still balance perfectly, so lack of die-cast is not saddening me lol.
Zeronos is a great figure, but I do have to say, is just behind Den-O. He just seems to lack that…charisma that Sword form offers.
If a Den-O fan Zeronos definitly belongs in your collection. He’s an awesome Figuart, and no major flaws at all. I would love for them to make his other forms, such as Vega but Zero Form should be a must, even if as an exclusive. But for Altair? Easy buy!
