Now of the Combaticons, Swindle here has a place in my heart. He is a fellow salesman after all…From the comics to Animated, Swindle is all about the Art of the Deal. He also had a pretty cool level in Fall of Cybertron even if they didn’t delve into his monger side.
Swindle is a Cybertronian…umm…land vehicle. His earth mode is traditionally a Jeep, so I can sort of see this. Nice yellow and black with a splash of purple. The detailing on the engine is nice as well. His weapon, a small cannon, fits into a port on the top. Now I will say, one of the things I liked about previous incarnations of this guy was that they would give him a big ole gun. He IS a weapons dealer after all. This is just…underwhelming.
He is a nice beefy vehicle though, so size is good in my book for what you are buying.
Robot mode is pretty cool. Not as photogenic as Blastoff, but still nice. Big ole feet for stability, a waist swivel by golly…except from the side he us just fugly. We do get a bit more purple for his shoulders though. His face is black, with dark purple on the eyes. Alas they do not photograph too well. Hands are static, no wrist rotation, and the gun is just held. Other versions, it would peg in his arm..ahh well.
Now he does have some nice articulation, but the thing is, he just doesn’t look GOOD in action poses. I also think his upper legs are way too short, and the hips narrow.
Not to say much, but for Bruiticus, he’s a leg. Flip the feet forward and open up the join port, and bang…a leg…It IS a stable one though I do have to say.
And while a bit of figuring out, we have an arm mode as well. A bit more sleek than Blastoff’s though. Also he has two separate hands, depending left or right handed. They do not hold too well though, Axe of Awesomeness kept falling out.
Swindle is definitely a stronger figure alone than Blastoff, but not by much. He is nice and beefy, but aside from standing there, not the best looking.
