Today I venture to the world of Sentai, or otherwise known as what Saban uses for source material for the Power Rangers. Red Hawk is from Jetman, and is one seriously awesome show. He is also one seriously awesome figure! Read on to see the oh so many reasons to have him!
Red Hawk is themed from a…oh hell if you can’t tell from that costume, then I have a vehicon to sell you…Any way, he is brilliantly painted. The reds are strong against the white with a touch of gold to accent it all. This is a dead on to the show costume.
And while not diecast, even the feet get amazing love. I mean it has creases, how cool is that?
I’m just going to jump right into the accessory count. Sweet jumping Jiminy to we get a bunch! 5 pairs of hands (one set still on guy at time of picture), a sword, the condensed version of sword, blaster, combined blaster and sword, gauntlet, alternate open wings for gauntlet, and a replacement back piece with actual wings. Also, I have the US release which a) has everything in English and b) does not have the bonus part for the Akiba Ranger Red. I will say, unless you have Akiba Red, get the US, about $20 cheaper.
Forgot to mention he also has two holsters, one for blaster, the other for condensed sword. Show here is his trademark action pose. The hands are in talon like grips, but another fan uses them like air quotes. What I love is his legs just hit that natural stance. If they were releasing all five of these guys, I would probably keep him in this pose.
We have two types of holding hands, one for the “bringer sword” and the other for the (I kid you not) “bird blaster.” I do like that the gun hand does have a trigger finger.
Now in the show they can also take the collapsed version of the sword and combine it with the blaster.
And they do give us a separate blaster with the two molded together.
Now he is ready to dispense justice!
Now my near favorite accessory is the bird gauntlet. This is an entire new hand that snaps on the wrist. I do recommend caution, I have heard it to snap. This bad boy was used for melee combat if they wanted to get in close and dirty. Now that red plastic? That comes out and they have an opened “V” piece that slides in.
In this mode it would fire a laser blast.
So the Jetman team would have a sword, a blaster, a combined blaster…a gauntlet that also blasted lasers…yeah they were armed to the teeth. Still though there is one last accessory that makes this guy just amazing.
The back panel can actually pop off, which is kind of cool if you like to see the engineering on a Figuart.
The wings are attached to the replacement panel! This way they are flush and even…
For Red Falcon to soar!!! Honestly I had almost zero interest in this figure until I saw this piece. It takes this to a whole new level.
Of course to note, he is a flawless Figuart in the posing department. I also have to note the coloring of the joints is perfect, so they really don’t distract from the figure at all. This way you can be sure he can be put in all the proper heroic poses.
Yes, all of them…lol
This guy is getting popped into the figure of the year running with out a second thought. The only thing cooler is that the US is getting a mass release of Black Condor, who if you watch the show is an AMAZING badass. If you are a Figuart collector, get this guy. Like Another Agito this is a figure to have even if not a fan of the show, he is just that awesome.
