One of my new favorite photos I have taken by the way. With War For Cybertron I made sure I got Shockwave as my pre-order. I loved his rendition, and when I heard he was actually getting a figure, oh hells yeah did I geek out! As opposed to Vehicon (STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN!) this purple Decepticon I got on my second try. Is he worth hunting you ask?
OH HELL YEAH! lol! Now that has been taken care of…
Shockwave is a cybertronian fighter of some sort. I like to think of as a flying cannon. He shares a lot of style elements of his G1 version here, from of course the color, to this cockpit being like his gun barrel. Some sweet sweet detailing of course. Longer than FOC Prime as you see as well.
Compared to Generations Starscream, He could hold formation, but still, much smaller than the previous generation of…well…Generations.
Robot mode is just gorgeous. Here he is showing plenty of G1 nostalgia. From his chest design, spindly legs and iconic head, one should have no complaints. Posing is limited with no waist joint, and the arms are slightly restricted. No wrists either, but you can still get some nice dynamic poses out of him.
He does stand shoulder to shoulder with his fellow cons as well, even if a bit more spindly. I think he will fit in fine with a Generations shelf.
He has some sweet light piping as well, even if not as prominent as the Dark of the Moon incarnation. Show accuracy yellow would have been cool, but considering Prime had none what so ever, I am happy.
Now his weapon is interesting, you can take off the “cap” and have a three barreled kind of cannon, which I believe is in the multiplayer, but umm…no idea why they put this in there.
Now this weapon IS hand held, BUT this has been taken into account by the designers who must have realized that all the fans who are too old to be playing with toys would rant and rave. This is the internet generation after all…
The hand folds in for his transformation, but you will find a peg in there. On the gun there is a slot. One doesn’t need an engineering degree to guess what happens next…
Congratulations, it’s a gun arm! It fits SNUG as well, perhaps a bit too snug, actually. I had a devil of a time removing it to get him back to jet mode. Also with this picture, take note of of the detailing not just in the head, but the neck. Those hoses and wires are sweet details I have to say. The didn’t have to put them in, could have kept a blank purple panel there, but this is some love. A fan designed this toy.
Fall of Cybertron Shockwave is a must have. He is a welcome addition to the Generations line, and he does his heritage well.
He fits in with all the other Shockwaves that have been made. What I love is that this is really an iconic character that has a distinct design, and he just it justice.
You want him in your collection. It is the only logical option I assure you.
