The Back Stabber, The Air Commander, The Second in Command, Starscream embodies all the roles. In Transformers Prime, he truly lives up to them as well.
As far as the toys go…oh he has caused yours truly some drama…with Hasbro deciding that it will be next to impossible for me to get the FE version with out shelling out some serious bucks. Now with the Cyberverse though, oh we have one and he is great!
Starscream is a commander class, so he is packaged with a DVD…the exact same DVD as all the others, “Master and Student”…not a bad episode…but I wish they would have mixed it up a bit…
His jet mode is sleek. No bulky fighter like in Armada, or space jet in Animated. His armed with red translucent rockets that peg under the wing.
Transformation with the Cyberverse is of course simple, but I have a feeling this could translate very well to a larger figure. The important thing to note is that the arms DO un-peg from the jet’s nose cones. This gives him elbows.
In robot mode, he is just awesome. Of all the versions he is the only one to have his crest painted red like the show. The detailing on his torso is immaculate. Now his hips and legs…ok…the are the literal weak point. I am going to have to take some nail polish to his hips, and he is really top heavy. It was a trick to get him to stand. With these legs he is the tallest of the Cyberverse figures, a head taller than Megatron! I think the designers of this figure were ‘Screamer fanboys like yours truly.
Even if not a fan of the size class, this guy is worth getting. Looks good by the computer, on your work desk…and well…is easier to find than his larger counterparts among the swarms of Bumblebees.
I am a surprising fan of the Cyberverse line from Prime. For these little guys have a great amount of detail, and their cases have much more variety than the larger counter parts. But the Commander class really shine, and Starscream is brightest in the class.
